About Us
BreakFree Switzerland is a collective fighting for climate justice. As a member of the international Insure Our Future coalition, we denounce the complicity of insurance companies in the climate crisis. Our mission: to push Swiss insurers to stop supporting the expansion of fossil fuels.
- Stop insuring new infrastructures, as well as clients not aligned with the Paris Agreement.
- Divest all assets linked to companies that do not respect the Paris Agreement and implement immediate verification measures.
- Adopt a rigorous due diligence policy and verification mechanisms to ensure clients fully respect human rights, including the requirement to obtain and document Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC).
We have co-published reports with Campax, Reclaim Finance, and Tipping Point UK, including the international campaign Boycott Bloody Insurance, and published a critical analysis on Swiss insurers.
